Please explain this :-

Dear student,

In solid, the particles are closely packed, in liquid the particles are less closely packed as compared solids but more closely packed as compared to gases and in gases the particles are freely moves.

X = Solid
Y = Liquid
W = Gas

On increasing temperature, the particles gains kinetic energy and the solids are converted into liquids and then into gases which means particles starts to move.

I region represents the low temperature and in low temperature the particle stays in solid state.
II is the region where temperature is constant and time increases.
In the III region the temperature increases so solids are converted into liquids, so this region indicates the particles packed as in Y.
In the IV region again temperature is constant, so after IV the liquid form is converted into gaseous state.

Hence, the correct option is (C)
