please justify the statement "It might be dangerous to raise an umbrella in a storm"

Most umbrellas have a metal rod as the staff which supports the covering. It protrudes through the covering at the top. One holds the other end. Walking around with one during a thunderstorm is as dangerous as carrying a mini lightning rod, because Lightning could be attracted by it.

Well it can also be blown away by the wind, so we would need to take care of it.

Do remember that umbrellas have metalic rod and in a storm there are electric charges. Since metal is a good conductor of electricity, the metal will harm the person holding the umbrella

umbrellas have metal rods & metal is a good conductor of electricity & so the charge can get attracted to it .

 it would not be wise to carry an umbrella during event of a thunder strom because the umbrella has parts which are made up of metal and it can act as a target for lightning to strike. since metal is good conductor of electricity we can get harm if we are holding it.

it is dangerous to do so  because the rod in the umbrella is made up of metal and while carrying it during a thunder storm lightning can strike you as metal is a good conductor of electricity
