The Indian independence movement highlights various historic events from 1857 to 1947. All the sections of society participated in Indian national movements. The major aim of the movement was to liberate India from the slavery of the British and  to establish a secular, democratic, republican state. Today there are 8 Union Territories in the country — Andaman and Nicobar, Chandigarh, Lakshadweep, Delhi, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, Jammu_and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Puducherry. In_all these union territories, there have been many great freedom fighters who made their important contribution to the freedom struggle of India.
Contribution of Delhi
According to the historical references, during the Revolt of 1857, Red Fort was one of the hubs of mutineers. The revolt was the first expression of organised resistance against the British East India Company. Many Freedom fighters of Delhi opposed the British rule in India and fought for Indian Independence. Some prominent personalities are Aruna Asaf Ali, Abul Kalam Azad etc.

Contribution of Puducherry 

Varadarajulu Kailasa Subbiah - He is regarded as the founder of the trade union movement in the union territory. In 1951, he emerged as a major leader of the independence movement.

Contribution of Chandigarh
It was conceived immediately after India‘s Independence, as the capital of Punjab state. Punjab had been at the forefront of India’s freedom struggle and has been considered home of many influencial revotulationaries such as Lala Lajpat Rai, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev. Today a total of 91 freedom fighters are legally registered with the Chandigarh government. 

Similarly, 33 freedom fighters from Daman and Diu, 1807 freedom fighters from jammu_and Kashmir, and a total of 83 freedom fighters from Dadra and Nagar haveli are legally registered.
Some of the eminent Indian freedom strugglers like Veer Savarkar and Batukeshwar Dutt were imprisoned in Andaman and Nicobar which was previously called as Kala Paani.
