(-2,3) B(-2,0), C(2,0) and D(2,6) on the graph paper. Join them consecutively. Find the lengths of AC and AD

Now to find length of AC we use distance formula  

d = $\sqrt{{\left(x_2 - x_1\right)}^2 +\hspace{0.17em}{\left(y_2 - y_1\right)}^2}$
for AC  
x₁  = - 2  And x₂  = 2 
y₁  = 3 And y₂ = 0 
So,
AC   = $\sqrt{{\left(2 +2\right)}^2 +\hspace{0.17em}{\left(0 -3\right)}^2} = \sqrt{{\left(4\right)}^2 +\hspace{0.17em}{\left(-3\right)}^2} = \sqrt{16 +\hspace{0.17em}9} = \sqrt{25}$  =  5 unit                      ( Ans )
And
for AC  D
x₁ = - 2  And x₂ = 2 
y₁ = 3 And y₂ = 6 
So,
AC   = $\sqrt{{\left(2 +2\right)}^2 +\hspace{0.17em}{\left(6 -3\right)}^2} = \sqrt{{\left(4\right)}^2 +\hspace{0.17em}{\left(3\right)}^2} = \sqrt{16 +\hspace{0.17em}9} = \sqrt{25}$  =  5 unit                      ( Ans )
