We know that,
Acceleration due to gravity (g) on earth = 9.8 m/s2
Weight in Newton = m × g
w = 1 × 9.8
w = 9.8 N

Which states that when a body is immersed wholly or partially in a liquid, it experiences an upward buoyant force of magnitude equal to the weight of the liquid displaced by it.
