pls explain this....

ecosystems are not exempt from the second law of thermodynamics.they need a constant supply of energy to synthesise the molecules they require,to counteract the universal tendency towars increasing disorderliness.

As you know, second law of thermodynamics states that the transformation of energy always result in some loss or dissipation of energy and entropy of a system always tends to increase. The ecosystem also follows the second law of thermodynamics. The living beings in a particular ecosystem converts food into the desired form of energy and there is loss in energy when it is transferred from one trophic level to the next. Each system strives for the state of highest entropy. So those systems which have low entropy or which are well organized  like the human beings, need continuous source of energy . This source of energy is provided by plants.
