Q. and arithmetic progression has an even number of terms. The sum of the terms at odd places is 440 and the sum of the terms at even place is 520. THe last term is 156 more than the first term.

Hi, Let total 2n terms A.T.Q, T1+T3+T5+.......T2n-1= 440T2+T4+T6+.......T2n=520subtract equation 2 -1  d+d+d....n times = 80  Since T2-T1= T4-T3= ....= dnd = 80 ....1T2n= a+156a+2n-1d= a+156 2nd-d = 156 160-d = 156 using equation 1 d  = 4 so n = 804= 20
