Report on labour day celebration

Students of Decent School were taken on a visit to Labour Mandi, Tajpur Road, to celebrate Labour Day. A Tribune photo Ludhiana: Decent School celebrated the Labour Day by taking students to the Labour Mandi, Tajpur Road. They questioned the labourers about hardships faced by them. Students gifted towels and bathing bars to the labourers.



The Labour Day celebration at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir (BVM) Senior Secondary School (USN) was aimed at making students aware of the importance of manual labour. Students stepped into the shoes of their helpers. Students of classes X and XI voluntarily performed different duties on the campus. Latika Ahuja, a senior teacher, gave the welcome speech. Handmade greeting cards, flowers and sweets were offered to the labourers. Principal Bandana Sethi lauded the services offered by the helpers towards the institution.



Manav Rachna International School celebrated the Labour Day. Students of Grade VII organised morning assembly, to which members of the support staff were special invitees. Students explained the history and significance of the day and presented a song. A quiz was also conducted by them. A student recited a Punjabi poem praising the labourers. Students gifted cards to the helpers.




The Labour Day celebration at Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town, commenced with a prayer, followed by a poem and a speech by Hargungeet Singh and Anureet Kaur, respectively. A group song was presented by the students. Lunch was also organised. Principal Gurmant Kaur Gill talked about the importance of the day and the contribution of workers.



Bhartiya Vidiya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Kitchlu Nagar, celebrated the Labour Day by organising a soft board decoration competition on theme, ‘we salute our labour’. Talent hunt, poster-making, card-making and essay-writing competitions were also held. Principal Neelam Mittar congratulated the workers and thanked them for their contribution.


Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Jalalpur


Mandi Gobindgarh: Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Jalalpur, celebrated the Labour Day. Students sang the welcome song and delivered speeches on the role of workers in school. The history of Labour Day celebration was also told. A play depicting child labour was performed. The management and principal expressed their gratitude towards the workers.



Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, held its investiture. Principal Jyoti conferred badges and sashes on the newly elected council members. Gursimran Singh of Class XII – non medical and Manpreet of Class XII- medical were appointed Head Boy and Head Girl.
