Reuse of material is considered better than "RECYCLING". Why?

Reuse of material is better that recycling it because recycling requires a large amount of energy and expenses which reuse does not require. Reuse preserves the “embodied energy” that was originally used to manufacture an item. Reuse creates less air and water pollution than recycling.
