The right to information act as a watch dog of democracy in following ways: Power -it gives power to the citizens of the country about the laws and policies made by the government Dignity - it enhance the dignity of the peple Role -the role of the people increases under this act Democracy- it promotes democracy

Through right to information act everyone has right to get information about the policies started by government.

The rights given to the citizens under RTI act make the citizens able to carry out democratic reform and empower real sovereignty as # the RTI empower the people to find out what is happening inside the government like -it allow people to know why any law has been proposed - is the proposed law in favour of citizens - is it under the constitutional framework of democratic rights - is it empower the real sovereignty etc. # it provide citizens a way to go through the the reason, procedure and result of implementation of any law # As a result, this reduces the chances of passing any law which may snatches away the democratic rights from its citizens Hence, it helps to control corruption and supplements the existing laws that banned corruption and imposed strict penalties. #
