rs. 4200 is to be shared among three persons such that the first person gets 50% of the second, who in turn gets 50% of the third. How much will each of them get?

Let 3^​rd person get an amount of Rs. x

Then 2^nd person will get an amount of 50% of 3^rd person = 50% of x = 0.5x

The first person will get 50% of 2^nd person = 50% of 0.5x = $0.50\times 0.5x = 0.25x$

But total money is Rs 4,200/-

Therefore x + 0.5 x + 0.25x = 4200

or 1.75x = 4200

$$\begin{gathered} or x= \frac{4200}{1.75} = 2400 \\ Therefore 1^{st} person will get 0.25x = Rs. 600 \\ The second person will get 0.5x = Rs 1,200 \\ The third person will get an amount x= Rs 2,400 \end{gathered}$$
