sodium chloride solution freezes at lower temperature than water but boils at higher temperature than water , explain.

HI

sodium chloride is a volatile salt as soon as it is added to water  there is a elevation in boling point and depression in frezzing point

thumbs up if helped

 hi

whenever sodium chloride is added to water as sodium chloride is a non volatile solute it brings elevation in boiling point and depression in frezzing point of water

when the NaCl is added to water it brings elevation in boiling point and depression in freezing point

Freezing point depends on the intermolecular attraction of the liquid. When NaCl is added to the water the intermolecular forces decreases and created the attraction between the water and Na+ and Cl- ions hence depression in Freezing point.

when a nonvolatile solute is dissolved in a solvent the vapour pressure decreases, As a result the solvent freezes at a lower temperature.

Sodium chloride is a nonvolatile solute. when a nonvolatile solute is added in the solution then freezing point of solution decreases than that of solvent. Similarly when a nonvolatile solute is added in solution then boiling point of solution becomes larger than that of a solvent.
