Some economists argue that farmers in other countries particularly in developed countries are provided with high amount of subsidies and are encouraged to export their production in other countries. Do you think our will be able to compete with farmers from developed countries ?

Providing high amount of subsidies will definitely benefit the farmers of the developed countries. It will help them to produced voluminous quantum of farm-output and that too at low cost of production, which in turn, will boost their exports of agricultural products. In the developing countries such as India, the government although provides the farmers with significant amount of subsidies but this amount is considerably lesser than that of the developed countries. In addition to this, in these countries, farming still remains a risky economic activity and to a large extent is dependent on the vagaries of the monsoon. Moreover, the farmers in the developing countries are poor and cannot afford the use of modern technologies. Thus, Indian farmers cannot withstand the competition from their foreign counterparts.

if the subsidies are provided in the right hands and to those who need it  then the agriculture sector of india can progress.there had to be strict measures taken to promote agricultural sector and migration of farmer should be avoided .then it can be possible that we could have a rank in the list of competitors
