State whether it is true or false and justify your answer.

Dear student,
Please find below the solution to the asked query

The statement is false.
During osmosis, the movement of water normally occurs from dilute solution (low solute concentration) to concentrated solution ( high solute concentration). Now, if external pressure is applied to the dilute solution, more water molecules will move with faster rate across the membrane towards concentrated solution.
