Suggest a few instances in the poem "The Tale of Melon City", which highlight humor and irony.

Dear student

Since the entire poem is a satire on the system of monarchy, humour and irony can be found in several places.

When the King realised that the arch had been built too low, he is angry and demands an execution to be carried out. Through a series of events where the people responsible blamed each other, the blame finally fell upon the king himself. Moreover, when they decided someone must be hanged, they find that the only person with the suitable height for the hanging is the king himself.

After the death of the king, they let a madman decide who the next king should be. Being a madman, he decided that the next king should be a melon. This paints quite a humorous picture. Instead of a powerful king sitting on a throne, there is instead a melon sitting on it.
