Article 22 of the Constitution gives the following rights to a person who is arrested.
1. The police needs to tell the arrested person at the time of arrested why he or she is being arrested.
2. The police needs to present the arrested person before a magistrate within 24 hours.
3. The police cannot ill treat or torture the arrested person.
4. If the arrested person makes any confession to the police, then the confession cannot be used as evidence in court.
5. The police cannot call boys below 15 years old or any woman to a police station for questioning.
