The capacitance of a charged capacitor is C and the energy stored in it is U.  Write the expression for Q in terms of C and U.

The expression for energy stored in a capacitor when its capacitance C and energy stored U is given, is         U=12Q2CSo       Q=2U×C

therefore U=q2/2C but q=VC  SO U=CV2/2

Q=CV
Also, VQ=U
       =>V=U/Q
thus, Q=CV => Q=CU/Q => Q2 = CU => Q=sqrt(CU)
i.e. Q equals the squared root of C*U
