The difference of two supplementary angles is 40`. Find the angles.

Let us suppose the two supplementary angles are A & B.

So from the problem we get

A + B = 180 (Since sum of two supplementary angles is equal to 180 Deg.).

& A – B = 40

So by adding the two equation we can find the both angles.

A + B = 180

A – B =  40

2A  =  220

A  =  220/2 = 110 Deg.

Then B = 180 – A = 180 – 110 = 70 Deg.

Ans: The angles are 110 & 70 Degrees respectively.
