The issue of subsistence in rural life in both West Bengal and Ladakh region is passed down through the generations. The main livelihood is agriculture. The various customs of social life are also passed down through the generations. A comparative discussion should be held on this subject.....i have to make a small project on this topic...please help with some notes.

Dear Student,
Problems related to Ladakh region-
1. Historically, subsistence agriculture has been a major component of both society and the economy. Pastoralists trade dairy, wool, and pashmina goat fibre. Arable farming, of barley and wheat, is tightly constrained to the summer months, between May and September
2.Cash-poor farmers, traditionally working with a barter-exchange economy, now depend on access to the urban monetary market. Population growth has increased pressure on limited environmental resources.
3.While soil erosion deteriorates in the west and the south suffer from groundwater vulnerability and hiking trail fragmentation.
4.Networks for communicating risk and response are limited. Road access consists of two highways, LehSrinagar and Leh-Manali, both closed annually for 7 months with heavy winter snowfall.
problems related to West Bengal-
1. Even the soil of Bengal is very fertile but rural people are mostly illiterate and having no knowledge of agricultural advancement.
2. Limited crop area due to delta region.
3. Sometimes floods sometimes drought caused the famine conditions in Bengal since old times
