Crocker-Harris seemed to be a stickler for rules. It is evident from his adherence to the rule of form results being announced only by the headmaster on the last day of term which nobody else followed. Crocker-Harris gave extra work on the last day of school and did not consider it to add weight in his appraisal of the student's efforts. He marked according to what they deserved, not one mark less and certainly not one mark more. Crocker-Harris did not even prefer being liked by his students and maintained his reserve at all times.  Crocker-Harris being the teacher of classics was more in tune to discipline and decorum. Crocker-Harris' pedagogy shows his orthodox mode of teaching and an adherence to maintaining a distance between teacher and pupil. To other masters, it mattered if they were liked by their students but Crocker-Harris was a force unto himself who did not need his students' validation for his pedagogical methods.
