the perimeter of a rectangle is 52cm .if its width is 2cm more than one third of its length.find the dimensions of the rectangle.plz explain with a short and a easy MEthod

 now, perimeter = 2(l+b)

52cm = 2( 4l + 6)

52cm / 2 = 4l + 6

26 x 3 = 4l + 6

78 - 6 = 4l

72 / 4 = l

18 = l

so, length = 18 cm

breadth = 18 / 3 +2 = 6 + 2 = 8cm
