The poles experience about six months day and six months night. Explain Why.

Dear Student ,

The Poles experience about six months of day and six months of the night because of the tilt of the Earth on its axis. The Earth rotate on an imaginary line which is called as its axis. This axis is tilted at 23.5 degrees from the vertical. Because of this tilt, each pole of the earth is tilted towards and away from the sun for about six months.

So, when the North Pole is tilted towards the Sun, it experiences continuous daylight for six months and during that time the South Pole which is tilted away from the Sun, experiences continuous night for six months and vice versa.

Regards.
