The story is divided into pre war and post war times. What hardships do you think the girl underwent during these times?

The war never brings peace but death and destruction. The narrator lost her family, her valuable possessions and her happy times. Herblissful memories of those days cherished with her valuable ' things' were nothing but ruins of time. She learned that human emotions of trust, love and friendship are lost in the ravages of war. The narrator lost almost everything but some memories to remind of her fair weather days with her family and her 'things'.
