Three cubes each of side 3cm are joined end to end . find the surface area of the resultant cube??

Given, the edge of the cube is 3 cm.

When three cubes are joined end to end, then the resulting solid is a cuboid.

Length of the cuboid, = 3 × Edge of the cube = 3 × 3 cm = 9 cm

Breadth of the cuboid, b = Edge of the cube = 3 cm

Height of the cuboid, h = Edge of the cube = 3 cm

Surface area of the cuboid

= 2 (lb + bh + hl)

= 2 (9 cm × 3 cm + 3 cm × 3 cm + 3 cm × 9 cm)

= 2 (27 cm2 + 9 cm2 + 27 cm2)

= 2 × 63 cm2

= 126 cm2

Thus, the surface area of the resulting cuboid is 126 cm2.

T.S.A of cuboid= 2(lb+bh+lh)

=2(9X3+3X3+9X3)

=2(27+9+27)

=2(63)

=126cm2

three cubes will form a cuboid!

   means multiply..

Length of new fig. formed(cuboid) after joining those three cubes=3+3+3=9cm

Breadth=3cm

Height=3cm

Surface area of cuboid=2(lb+bh+lh)

  =2(9*3+3*3+9*3)

  =2(27+9+27)

  =2*63

  =126cm2

Length of new figure=3+3+3=9cm

Breadth and Height would be 3cm each.

Total surface area = 2(9*3+3*3+9*3)

=2(27+9+27)

=2*63 =126cm2

  • 8

Length of new figure=3+3+3=9 cm

Breadth and Height would be 3 cm each.

Total surface area = 2(9*3+3*3+9*3)

=2(27+9+27)

=2*63 =126 cm2

Hope this helps! :)
