three types of system:

Open system- In this system, matter and
heat, both can transfer from system to surrounding
Closed system- In this system, matter
can't transfer but heat can transfer from system to
surrounding
Isolated system- In
this system, neither matter nor heat can transfer from system to
surrounding

Now plastic bottle is a type of closed system,
therefore there is a definite transfer of heat from system to
surrounding but as plastic is not a good conductor, the process may
be slow but the transfer would take place, as the time passes the
water (hot or cold) becomes normal according to the temperature of
the surrounding
