we can bend the cartilage pf our ears but cannot bend the bones of our arms . why?

Bones are the combination of hard minerals and collagen which makes them so hard that it cannot be bent without breaking. Cartilage contains condrocytes that secretes a gel like substance which combines with fibers to form a flexible matrix. Thus cartilages are flexible and can be bent easily.

it is so because cartilage's matrix is composed of sugar and protiens and provides flexibility where as bone's matrix is composed of calcium and phoporous compounds and does not allow flexibility.

hope it helps
