The human body is composed of billions and billions of cells with all performing their own specific function.
Cells form tissue, tissues form organs, organs form organ systems, and organ systems form organisms.

 is the basic structural and functional unit of all organisms.Robert Hooke in 1665 coined the term " cell " .Some organisms such as bacteria, Chlamydomonas etc have single celled body and are called as unicellular organisms.Some organisms have multicellular body and may have countless number of cells. Example: Human beings, animals plants etc.Cells divide to produce cells of their own kind. Cell has many organelles like, nucleus, mitochondria, chloroplast, lysosomes, plasma membrane etc.
