What are reducing end and non reducing end in glycogen. Explain with the help of a diagram.

Dear student.

In the glycogen diagram, the right end is reducing and left end is non reducing because right end has free aldehydic group (CHO) whereas left end does not have free aldehydic group as it forms glycosidic bond with other glucose moiety.
When glycogen is broken down into glucose. Glucose consist of free aldehydic group due to which it is reducing sugar. All the monosaccharides are reducing sugar.
