What are the adaptation of polar bear to live in cold region?

Dear Student,

Polar bear lives in polar regions. They are found in snow-covered regions which have an extremely cold climate throughout the year.
Some Adaptations in polar bear are:-
  • They have two thick layers of fur, which protect them from the extreme cold of the Polar Region.
  • They have a layer of fat under their skin, which keeps them well insulated.
  • They move slowly and rest often while moving from one place to another to avoid overheating their bodies.
Hope this information helps you in clearing your doubt.

Polar bear has a thick skin and a layer of fat and hence is adapted for Polar Regions where the Temperatures are Cold. These conditions keep the animal warm. But with these adaptations, the polar bear will not be able to live in the tropical region with hot climatic conditions.
