The chapter 'Going Places' deals with two adolescent school-going girls, Sophie and Jansie who were poles apart in thinking and temperament. While Jansie was a realist, Sophie was mentally present in her dreamy world, escaping the hard realities of the present. Fantasising and residing in a dreamy world are a few traits of teenagers. They seem to find peace and contentment in their dreams which was similar to the case of Sophie. Despite being aware of being earmarked for a biscuit factory, Sophie dreamt of owning a boutique. The realist Jansie left no stone unturned to show the reality of being poor on her face, but all her actions were in vain. Adolescents also tend to engross their minds in imaginary love affairs. Sophie not only dreamt of the Irish footballer Danny Casey but also told tales about her fictional meeting. Subsequently, Sophie got disappointed unnecessarily when her favourite footballer did not turn up as was expected to happen.
