What are the advantages and disadvantages of fragmentation
Fragmentation is a type of asexual mode of reproduction. It is the unintentional cutting up of the body of an organism which each grows into different organism. This feature itself is an advantage for the organism as any body part can develop into complete organism. Secondly, in comparison to other mode of reproduction it is simple and convenient.
Its disadvantage is that the offsprings produced are the exact copies of their parents , the chances of variation are very low. Secondly, if the conditions are not favorable, the organism would be unsuccessful in reproducing.
