What are the difference between absolute monarchy and constitutional monarchy?

Absolute Monarchy refers to rule of Govt. where the Monarch or King has all the powers without any sharing. He can do as his wish.

Whereas in Constitional Monarchy, the Monarch has to rule according to specific constitution or rules which he cannot defy.

in absolute monarchy the king is the only one who has the power of a province/state/country. he is the only one to make laws and makes the country run in the way he wants.e.g- Nepal was an absolute monarchy till king Birendra accepted the new transitions.

In Constitutional Monarchy, the king has to follow and coordinate with the constituion. There is an essence of democracy present in this type of monarchy. The king cannot make laws unnilaterally. e.g- king Birendra accepted the transition towards establishment of this government.
