what are the differences between reflx actions and non reflex actions?
When a receptor (sense organ) is stimulated by a stimulus, signals are sent to the brain which coordinates a response which is then transmitted to the effector. But sometimes a very quick action is required, in that case the spinal cord directs the response and the brain is not involved. This type of action is called reflex action. Thus reflex actions involve only the spinal cord and happen quickly without thinking. while other actions are processed by the brain and are not as quick as the reflex actions.
