Dear Student, Transgenic animals are those in which a gene of interest (foreign gene) has been intentionally introduced. These animals are useful in studying diseases such as cancer, genetic abnormalities etc. In this, animals are genetically modified to have a gene responsible for a particular disaese. These animals act as models and show symptoms of the disease and hence, can be tested for various treatments to cure the disease. Regards
