What could be the reason behind stream of water remaining together?

Water being a liquid has a property of flowing and diffusing and also there is strong intermolecular interaction between the molecules i.e hydrogen bonding which keeps stream of water together. Therefore, after removing the separator from stream of water, the two portions merge again.
