When one fraction is changed into two or more simpler fraction, then these simpler fraction are called `partial fractions' .

The rational function can be decomposed into partial fractions in the following ways.

Putting x = –2, we get

5 = A (–2 + 3) + B (–2 + 2)

∴ A = 5

Putting x = –3, we get

5 = A (–3 + 3) + B (–3 + 2)

∴ – B = 5

⇒ B = –5

Here, the fraction has be expressed in terms of two simpler fraction .
