What efforts has the government made for rural development?

For the development of rural India, government has launched various schemes in coordination with other department for the well being of people of rural India. Some of those schemes are-
1. Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) - Through this scheme government tried to provide better connectivity to rural areas with the cities so that people can access social and economic services.
2. Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) - This scheme provide guaranteed 100 days employment to any adult who is willing to do unskilled manual work. Thus they generate employment.
3. Sarv Shiksha Abhiyaan- This scheme aims to provide basic free education to all children as this is there basic right too. So that every child is able to read and write.
4. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY) - The goal of this scheme is to provide home to all citizen till 2022. The houses that are provided under this scheme have basic facilities like toilet, electricity connection, LPG connection etc.
