WHAT HAPPENS IN THE BODY OF A HUMAN FEMALE WHEN AN EGG GETS FERTILIZED?

Dear student.

After fertilization, the zygote divides and forms embryo which travels through the fallopian tubule and enters the uterus. The inner lining of the uterus called endometrium becomes thick and is supplied with blood for implantation and nourishing the embryo. After entering uterus the embryo implants itself on the wall of uterus. There it resides for 9 months and when developed completely gets detached from the uterine wall and gradually comes out of the body.

Regards.

Your body sheds the thick lining of the uterus, and your period starts. If one sperm does make its way into the fallopian tube and burrows into the egg, it fertilizes theegg.
