What is adenine

Dear Student

Adenine is a purine nitrogenous base. It is one of the four nitrogenous bases that make up DNA and RNA. In addition to being a part of the genetic material, adenine combines with three phosphate groups to form a high energy molecule called adenosine triphosphate (ATP) which is also known as the energy currency of the cell.
