Amygdala – It is an almond shaped bunch of nuclei present inside the temporal lobes of the brain in vertebrates. Its main function is to process memory and emotional impulses primarily.

Hippocampus – It is the most important part of vertebrate brain which forms, organizes and stores memory. This part of the brain is responsible for correlating smell and sound with memory. It is within the cerebral cortex of brain.
