What is chemical communication?

Dear student, Chemical communication is the process of coordination between the cells with the help of chemical signals like hormones. These chemical signals can freely diffuse through the cells and they are transferred through cell to cell contact. Basic steps involved in chemical communication are: 1 Release of signal (hormones) 2 Reception of signal by specific receptors. 3 Initiation of the biochemical pathways or signal transduction. A physiological response is given by the cell receiving the signal. Thanks and regards.
