What is CPCT and can you explain the congruence rules ?

CPCT stands for corresponding parts of congruent triangles.

It means that if two triangles are congruent with any of SAS, ASA, SSS and RHS congruence rules then remaining angles and sides corresponding in both triangles are equal.

Example:

  • 7
  • ASA-if two angles and the side between of a triangle is equal to that of another triangle then they are congurent.
  • SAS- if two sides and the angle between of a triangle is equal to that of another triangle then they are congurent.
  • SSS-if all sides of a triangle of a triangle are equal to that of another triangle then they are congurent.
  • AAS- if two angles any side of a triangle is equal to that of another triangle then they are congurent.
  • RHS-if a right angle a hypotnuse and any side of a triangle is equal to that of another triangle then they are congurent
  • 1
