What is Electric potential?

Dear student,
Here, I assume you're talking about electric potential of a point. The electric potential at a point in an electric field is defined as the amount of work done in moving a unit positive charge from infinity to that point along any path when the electrostatic forces are applied. Suppose that a positive charge is placed at a point. The charge placed at that point will exert a force due to the presence of an electric field.  The electric potential at any point at a distance r from the positive charge +q is given by:
V=14πo·qr

It is the work done in bringing a unit test positive charge from infinity to a point.

Dear student,

The electric potential is the amount of work energy needed to move a unit of electric charge from a reference point to the specific point in an electric field with negligible acceleration of the test charge to avoid producing kinetic energy or radiation by test charge.
