what is lignite?how it is used?
Lignite is one of the forms of coal. Principally there are four types of coal namely:
Anthracite
Bituminous
Lignite
Peat
Anthracite has maximum amount of carbon content and peat has minimum amount. The more the carbon content of the coal, more is its heat of combustion and hence will be a better fuel.
Lignite is used in electric power plants for generation of electricity.
