Ozone is the form of oxygen,its a triatomic molecule (O3). Ozone forms a layer called as the ozone layer in our atmosphere. The ozone layer wards off harmful ultraviolet radiations from the sun and thus protects the living organisms. But, if this layer gets depleted then the ultra violet radiations will directly reach the earth leading to various skin diseases and cancers.

Ozone is a gas which is formed when oxygen molecules go to the higher altitudes of the atmosphere and break up due to UV rays and split into atoms of oxygen. As the oxygen is very unstable, they combine again to three atoms to form O3 . It protects us from the direct contact of UV rays. The increase in the rate of CO2 , creates a large hole in the ozone layer.
