If 1 is subtracted from any natural number, then we obtain thepredecessorof that number. For example, take a number 5, if 1 is subtracted from it we get, 5 - 1 = 4 as the result.

If we consider the whole numbers, then 0 doesnothave a predecessor.If we consider the integers, then the predecessor of 0 = 0 1 = 1
