The process of placing classified data into tabular form is known as tabulation. A table is a symmetric arrangement of statistical data in rows and columns. Rows are horizontal arrangements whereas columns are vertical arrangements.
Functional parts of a statistical table:
1. Table number- It is the number given to each table for identification of that table.Through table number we can distinguish one table from another.
2. Title - Title of the table tells about the content of the table.
3. Captions or column head - It is given at the top of each column and it is given to explain figure of the column.
4. Row heading- Alike column heads, rows also get heading
5. Body of the content- It is the main body that contain the data of the table
6. Unit of measure - It shows the unit in which data measures in table 
7. Source- It shows from where the data has been taken
8. Note- It is the last part of table and tells about some specific features of table.
