What is the advantage of pictograph

A pictograph is used to represent a large amount of data in a pictorial way. Pictographs are being used for analyzing and interpreting the data.  Using this a vast complex data is represented in simpler and easy to remember form.

For example, we have a data showing total number of boys of seven different schools as:

Now, we have to Prepare a pictograph of the above data using one picture  to represent 30 boys.

So, by using pictograph the given data is represented simply as:

Now from the above picture it is too easy and fast to read the given data of number of boys of seven different schools.
