Natural selection is the process by which nature selects the individual which can survive in a particular kind of environment with best possible traits. Nature selects those individuals which have variations that make them more fit than others in the given environment.
This concept was given by Darwin under the 
theory of "survival of the fittest" or theory of natural selection. It states that the better-adapted organisms would eliminate less suited organisms and would pass on their traits to next generation leading to evolution. Darwin noticed that the continuous competition between individuals for environmental resources creates a 'struggle for existence' and this struggle makes sure that certain organisms would fail to survive or reproduce. 

So, natural selection is a process of evolution that comes under Darwin's theory- survival of the fittest.
