what is the difference between compost and vermicompost

 

Compost is the end product formed by the biodegradation of organic matter, such as yard waste and food waste. This is done by microorganisms, such as bacteria. Yeast too helps in the process.

 

Vermicompost is the end product formed by the degradation of organic matter. This process is done only by worms, such as red wrigglers, white worms and earthworms.

compost is the animal waste and agricultural waste which is decomposed in the pits to release manure.

when the same process of compost  is done by earthworms to decompose the waste materials. It is known vermicompost.
